Funding Priority 2028: All the Details
The fourth funding priority of the LWL-Kulturstiftung focuses on the interplay between artificial intelligence and culture. Project proposals may be submitted by the next application deadline (February 28); the project implementation period is 2028.
This funding initiative provides cultural practitioners who already use AI in their artistic work—or who are interested in doing so—with the opportunity to explore new avenues, critically examine AI, and play a responsible role in shaping the future.
To participate in “AI & Culture,” the project must incorporate the use of AI:
AI should be used as a supportive tool to open up new possibilities for one’s own creative process. AI is not meant to replace human creativity, but rather to enhance it. The goal is to explore the interplay between human creativity and technology, draw inspiration from it, and develop innovative formats.
High-profile cultural programs and events must take place in Westfalen-Lippe in 2028. Projects that do not actively incorporate AI systems are not eligible for funding.
