The Osthaus Museum Hagen is producing the film “The Westphalian Magic Mountain” about Henry van de Velde’s iconic Villa Hohenhof. Through documentary footage, dramatized scenes, archival material, and interviews with experts, the film conveys in an accessible and vivid way the international significance of the house as well as its eventful history as a family home, a gathering place for renowned artists, and a site of reform. In cooperation with the LWL Media Center for Westphalia, the short film will be presented at the museum and via digital channels on the occasion of the IGA 2027, making a lasting contribution to the site’s culture of remembrance.
