From April 6, 2028 to April 8, 2029, the LWL Museum of Archaeology and Culture in Herne is dedicating the exhibition "Castles in North Rhine-Westphalia" to the more than 2,000 castles that characterize the Westphalian and Rhenish cultural landscape. Archaeological finds and cultural-historical exhibits, supplemented by interactive stations and a digital atlas, illustrate their development, function, subsequent use and destruction.
