The festival has now become a tradition in the Hellweg region. It incorporates the 51 existing light art installations in public spaces, supplemented by additional exhibits from private and museum collections and storage facilities. A project of the cities of Ahlen, Bergkamen, Bönen, Fröndenberg, Hamm, Lippstadt, Lünen, Soest, and Unna, in cooperation with the Zentrum für Internationale Lichtkunst e.V. in Unna.
