With 28 shows, workshops, discourse formats, parties and the festival center in the heart of Bochum, the festival offers countless opportunities to laugh, exchange ideas and be inspired. More than 125 events on the stages and in the cultural venues of Bochum, Essen and Herne invite you to experience contemporary puppet theater. Thematically, the program spans a wide range: The special program Vom Unterwegssein der Dinge shows how closely our everyday lives are interwoven with ever faster global flows of goods and data. It is complemented by the special program Beyond the Borders: four productions that use puppet theater to tell sensitive stories about migration and counter the often negative reporting with a tangible dose of humanity.
