The exhibition provides an insight into the special nature of the Women’s Archive collections, in which every object tells a story.

About 90% of the materials in ausZeiten are made of paper. They are documents that authentically reflect the subject matter of women’s and lesbian movement debates from the last 6 decades. Documents that show the significance of women’s lives in different societies at different times. 10% of ausZeiten’s archive holdings are materials made of other fabrics, porcelain, vinyl, cotton, glass and plastic. The subject of feminist debates became real objects, art objects, films, cups, bags, games.

The exhibition also shows archival documents from feminist archives in other cities in Westphalia, which ausZeiten took over when they were dissolved.
