The bilingual audio walk (Polish, German) brings the history of the former camp for displaced persons in Haltern am See (1945-1948), one of the largest in Westphalia, to life.
In addition, an artistic work will be created in public space, based on an archive image from the Haltern am See town archives from that time. For this, potato peelings were transferred into bronze. On the one hand, they mark numerous places and houses presented in the audio walk; on the other hand, they function as independent objects of remembrance and form a decentralized memorial in the district concerned.
Many people have already been invited to participate in the memorial. Anyone else who is interested is cordially invited to get in touch and help shape the commemoration together
