The “Henze100” event series will feature events through December focusing on the works and legacy of Gütersloh-born composer Hans-Werner Henze (1926–2012). Through concerts, films, and readings, the city of Recklinghausen showcases how Henze’s work and cultural identity continue to inspire artists today, featuring performances at established venues in Gelsenkirchen, Essen, and Recklinghausen, as well as smaller cultural venues such as “die flora” in Gelsenkirchen.
